We finished recording the last parts for the EP today, and now are just doing some final mixing on a few of the songs. We will send them over to Resonant Mastering on Monday (7 March) so Rachel can work her magic. The EP will be available on all the major streaming networks on March 18th.

This EP features seven English-language covers of Chetes songs (from his solo career, as well as Zurdok and Vaquero). We have called the EP “Conexiones Profundas” (english: deep connections).

We are planning to do an online CD release event on Tuesday, March 22. We will post details on that as soon as we figure out some of the logistics.

It feels truly amazing to hear these songs as a set, and know that we’ll be able to share it with you all very soon!

We released a new video to celebrate February 16th!

We are so excited to announce that our first record will be released next month! This has been an amazing journey for the band, and we cannot wait to share these songs with you.

We are calling this EP “Conexiones Profundas” (Deep Connections) to reflect the way that music has connected us here in the Seattle area, as well as connecting with new friends in Mexico. Music has so much power to connect people, and this project has been a great reminder & illustration of that!

We finished another song this week: “All Day Dreamer” by Vaquero. It will be on all the major streaming service on December 24!

For those who aren’t familiar with Vaquero, it was a band that Chetes formed after the breakup of Zurdok. They were active for a few years in the “early aughts” (2004 – 2006). Vaquero put out a self-titled record in 2005 which featured power-pop/indie-rock songs with English lyrics. All Day Dreamer is from that record, and is, as you may have guessed, the inspiration for the name of our band. So, we thought we should cover it, even though it was already in English.

We are still working hard on the rest of the songs on our 7-song EP of Chetes covers. We are on track to release the EP in a few months, probably March 2022.

As always, we are humbled by the support from Chetes on this project, and from his fans who have discovered our versions of his music. Thank you so much, it means the world to us!!!

In October 2021 we recorded our version of one of our favorite Chetes songs: “Nunca Te Vayas”. This recording features Beija Bailes and Shane Broughton (Hygge Boi) on lead vocals, and some outstanding horn playing from Barb Hudak and Adrian Goodwin.

We need permission to release it, since we translated the lyrics from Spanish into English. We are in the process of asking for permission from the Chetes team. Hopefully they’ll like what we have done! We definitely tried to show his song the most respect we could and we’re pretty proud of our version.
